Women's Golf in Sixth After Round One of Tignanelli Towson Invitational
Freshman Meghan McLean leads Blue Devils on day one
The Central Connecticut women's golf team opened the 2017-18 season and shot a team score of 327 in the first round of the Tignanelli Towson Invitational on Sunday. Towson leads the tournament with a score of 304, followed by Navy (310), Lehigh (315), Monmouth (318) and Longwood (320).
The tournament is being played at Eagles Nest Country Club in Phoenix, MD
Freshman Meghan McLean led the Blue Devils with a 79 in her first collegiate round. She is tied for 14th place overall in the 49 player field.
Senior Cecy Gutierrez shot an 81 and is tied for 23rd place. Sophomore Emma Heim shot 82 and is tied for 26th place. Freshman Olivia Gardenhour, also playing in her first collegiate tournament, shot 85 and is tied for 35th place.
Freshman Alexa Brown fired a 94 and is in 46th place for the Blue Devils.
Round two will take place on Monday morning.
