Women's Golf in Sixth at Wagner After Day One
Williams leads Blue Devils with first round score of 77
Senior Ella Williams led the Blue Devils with a first round score of 77 and the Central Connecticut women's golf team shot a team score of 318 on Sunday in the first round of the Seahawk Invitational hosted by Wagner College. The tournament is taking place at Quail Valley Golf Course.
Navy leads the tournament with a team score of 297, followed by Sacred Heart (310), Quinnipiac (311), St. Francis U and Wagner (317) and then the Blue Devils. LIU Brooklyn, Niagara, Delaware and St. Francis Brooklyn round out the field.
Williams lead all CCSU scorers with her 77, she sits in a tie for eighth place.
Junior Tara Whelan shot a 78 and is tied for 11th place. Freshman Kristyna Abrahamova shot 79 and is tied for 17th place overall.
Junior Cecy Gutierrez shot 84 and is tied for 35th place while senior Kaitlyn Stoddart shot 88 and is tied for 42nd.
Round two of the tournament will begin on Monday morning.
