The Blue Devils Travel to Syracuse for Friday Night Matinee at Le Moyne

The Central Connecticut women's basketball team looks to bounce back from their first conference defeat on Monday at Merrimack. The game will be streamed on ESPN+ and NEC front row at 7:00 PM.

The Le Moyne Dolphins (5-11, 3-0 NEC) have been on a roll. They started the conference with a win vs FDU, followed by a victory at Merrimack. They are coming off one of their biggest victories as a division one program vs the defending champs of Sacred Heart.

The Central Connecticut State Blue Devils (4-12, 2-1 NEC) won their first two conference games vs Stonehill and Saint Francis. They recently fell to Merrimack on Monday, January 15 at Hammel Court.

OPENING NOTES:

• Le Moyne welcomes Central Connecticut to Ted Grant Court for their first-ever matchup on Friday night. The Dolphins look to remain unbeaten, while Central dropped their first NEC game on Monday afternoon at Merrimack.
• Head coach Way Veney is in her first season at the helm of the Blue Devils.
• Central is back home Sunday afternoon at 1:00 vs LIU for National Girls and Women in Sports Day.

• The Blue Devils would capture their first road win since January 19th of last year at LIU.
• Central would move to 3-1 and tied for first place in the Northeast Conference Standings.

• CCSU scores 57.3 points per game, 11.6 fewer than the 68.9 Le Moyne gives up per contest. The Blue Devils are 2-2 this season when they put up more than 69 points.
• The Blue Devils hit 75.7 percent of their free throws as a team, the top in the NEC. Samora Watson knocks down three free throws per game to lead Cent. Conn. St. while connecting on 75 percent of her attempts at the line.
• Watson is Central's top scorer, tallying 16.0 points a contest, and the leading rebounder with 5.6 rebounds per game. 
• Belle Lanpher is a top-five score in the conference, averaging 13.1 points, 3.1 assists, and 2.0 steals for the Blue Devils. She leads the Blue Devils with 12.1 points a game in NEC play.
• Alonna Sellers has proven to be a spark off the bench in her first taste of Northeast Conference games. She averages 9.3 points a game in conference play (third on the team).
