Women's Basketball Falls Short Against LIU on Senior Night

KEY MOMENTS   

• Central Connecticut opened the scoring with a layup from Lara Rohkohl and LIU retaliated with a layup from Christina Bermejo. 

• The teams traded baskets until the Blue Devils took control, going on a 12-4 run. 

• Central shot 63.6% from the field in the first to build a 10-point lead before the buzzer (19-9). 

• Rohkohl sunk a layup and a free throw to kick off the second, expanding CCSU's lead to 13.

• LIU fought back, going on a run of their own with three straight layups from Austin and a three from O'Brien to make it a one-point game. 

• Mariah Elohim hit a shot from behind the arc with 1:24 to play to give the Sharks the 56-54 lead. 

• Austin attempted to seal the deal, sinking a layup with :12 to play, but Lanpher was fouled and sunk three shots from the charity stripe making the score 58-57 with :05 to play. 

• Shyan Mwai hit one final free throw to end the game and secure the win for the Sharks.

• Three Blue Devils scored in double figures including Lanpher with 17 points and Toppin and Kenefick with 11 each.

• CCSU shot 63.6% (7-11) in the first quarter, their best single-quarter shooting percentage of the season.
