Women's Basketball Heads to LIU on Thursday Night

The Central Connecticut State University women's basketball team will hit the road on Thursday to face LIU at 7:00pm in Brooklyn, NY. The Blue Devils will be looking to improve their record to 20-26 against the Sharks. The last time Central defeated LIU was in the 2019-20 season when they secured a 71-57 victory.

• Lara Rohkohl led CCSU against FDU, scoring 20 points and tallying seven rebounds. Two other Blue Devils scored in double figures including Belle Lanpher with 16 points and Forever Toppin with 10 points.

• Dejah Jenkins led the Blue Devils in scoring against SFU with 19 points. She is currently ranked 8th in scoring in the NEC at 11.0 points per game and was named a Prime Performer for the week of 1/9.

• Lanpher also scored in double-figures against Saint Francis University, securing 14 points as well as three assists and two rebounds. Meghan Kenefick led the Blue Devils on the boards with 10 rebounds. 

• Toppin was the leading scorer for CCSU against Saint Francis Brooklyn. She had 17 points, followed by Rohkohl with 12, and Jenkins with 11. Toppin also tallied three assists, two steals, and two rebounds. 

• Rohkohl achieved a double-double against SFBK, leading the team in rebounding with 14 rebounds, 10 being offensive, and scoring 12 points. Rohkohl is third in the NEC with 6.8 rebounds per game and the Blue Devils are second in the conference in offensive rebounds at 11.5 per game. 

• CCSU had 22 offensive rebounds against SFBK that led to 15 second-chance points. 

• The Blue Devils recorded 12 steals against SFBK, the third game this season with double-digit steals 

• Two Blue Devils are in the top-10 in the league in rebounding, with Lara Rohkohl at 3rd (6.8 per game) and Meghan Kenefick at 7th (6.0 per game).
