Berube Named NEC Player of the Week

After the Blue Devils picked up their first win of the season, senior center Ashley Berube was named Northeast Conference Player of the Week on Monday.

Berube put together a show on offense in the Blue Devils' two games last week. In CCSU's 67-60 win over the Brown Bears on Thursday, Berube led the team in scoring with 17 points on 8-15 shooting, and was a rebound shy of a double-double. Berube also recorded three assists and a block against the Bears.

In CCSU's thriller against the NJIT Highlanders, Berube dazzled once again, getting bucket after bucket in the paint en route to a game-high 23 points. The 23 points was three shy of her career high at CCSU. Berube also drained her first three pointer of the season against NJIT. Once again, she sat a rebound short of a double-double. The senior also contributed an assist and block in the effort.

Berube has been an integral part of the Blue Devils' offense through the first four games of the season. She leads the team in scoring with 17.8 points per game. She's also been a board machine so far, grabbing seven rebounds per contest.
