Central Starts Two Game Road Series at Fairleigh Dickinson

The Central Connecticut women's basketball team continues NEC play on a two-game road trip. The team faces the Knights of Fairleigh Dickinson inside the Rothman Center in Hackensack, N.J on Saturday, Jan. 12. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Fans can follow the game on NECfrontrow.com. 

Central dropped a 75-63 decision to Wagner Monday in New Britain, CT. The Blue Devils were led by 17 points from senior Kiana Patterson. The Seahawks led the entire game and pushed their lead to 17 with 3:26 remaining in the game. Taylah Simmons recorded her third double-double of the season with 19 points, 11 rebounds.

Most Recently for FDU • The Knights are coming off a 71-49 loss to Robert Morris. Junior Lauren Francillon posted a career-high 20 points and made four three pointers, but it was not enough to overcome the Colonials who outscored FDU 40-11 in the first half.

Last Year vs. Fairleigh Dickinson • Central and Fairleigh Dickinson each won its home contests last season with FDU winning 78-49 in Hackensack, N.J, and CCSU prevailing 76-56 in New Britain. In the home win, the Blue Devils snapped the Knight's five-game win streak holding FDU to 23-for-62 (.371) shooting including 1-for-14 (.071) from three-point range.

By the Numbers • The Blue Devils are averaging 57.9 points per game led by Kiana Patterson who leads the team with 17.0 ppg. Berube Block Party • Sophomore center Ashley Berube has started all 12 games for Central. Of the five starters, she is second in field goal percentage at 47.7 percent. Berube leads the team in rebounding with 75 on the season and 6.3 per game. Berube has made her presence known on defense recording 26 blocks in 12 games. In both NEC games she has posted five blocks.

McCamus Makes a Difference • Off the bench, sophomore Emma McCamus is the third leading scorer for Central with 8.4 points per game. She has played in all 12 games this season averaging 21.4 minutes. She has the fourth highest free throw percentage (.730) and scored the second most points this season at 101.

Series History • Today marks the 42nd meeting between the Knights and Blue Devils. Central holds a 25-16 advantage in the overall series and has won 8 out of the last 10 games against FDU.
