Women's Basketball Seeks First Home Win Against New Hampshire
The Blue Devils host New Hampshire on Sunday, Dec. 16.

The Central Connecticut women's basketball team returns to Detrick Gymnasium on Sunday for its third home contest of the season. Central hosts the University of New Hampshire Wildcats at 1 p.m. All CCSU home games and Northeast Conference games can be streamed live on www.NECFrontRow.com.
Tickets for CCSU home games can be purchased at CCSUTickets.com or at the box office upon entry to Kaiser Hall and Detrick Gymnasium. Admission for all CCSU students, faculty and staff is free of charge with a valid Blue Chip card.
The Blue Devils came back from an 18-point deficit to beat UAlbany 60-53 in their most recent game. Senior Kiana Patterson led the team with a career-high 28 points, scoring the first 14 points of the game for Central.
New Hampshire is coming off a 74-62 win over Holy Cross, claiming its third straight home win. Ashley Storley scored a career-high 23 points and Caroline Soucy recorded her first career double-double in the win. Storey averages 16.9 points and 6.5 rebounds per game for the Wildcats.

Series History • Today marks the 20th match-up between the two squads with Central having a slight 10-9 advantage in the all-time series. The last time these two teams met was the 2016-17 season with UNH prevailing 56-52.
Patterson Leads the Way • Senior Kiana Patterson is averaging 18.0 ppg and has recorded four 20+ point games this season. The Troy, NY native had a career-high 28 points against Albany and 22 points with six assists against Buffalo. The 5-6 guard is second in the NEC in scoring (18.0 ppg), fourth in assists (3.4 apg) and fourth in made three-pointers (18). Patterson is shooting .416 from the floor and .778 from the foul line. In the NCAA, she is ranked 19th in points per game.
Defense Wins Games • The Blue Devils are first in the Northeast Conference for defending the three-point line. Central has only allowed 35 threes so far this season holding teams to an average of 27.1 percent. In the last three games, CCSU held Albany to 22.2 percent, Buffalo to 29.2, and Morgan State to 18.2 percent from behind the arc.
December is Love Wins Month at CCSU • During the month of December, the CCSU men's and women's basketball teams will wear t-shirts during warmups to recognize the Ana Grace Project. The Ana Grace Project was founded in 2013 in memory of Ana Grace Márquez-Greene as a response to the tragedy that took her life in Sandy Hook, CT, on 12/14/12. The Ana Grace Project is dedicated to promoting love, community and connection for every child and family through three lead initiatives: partner schools, professional development, and music & arts. The Love Wins Community Drive will take place at CCSU on Dec. 14 with a collection being taken for toys, baby items, food, toiletries and winter clothing.
