Blue Devils Welcome Lehigh for Home Opener Saturday
Women's basketball travels to Rutgers Tuesday Nov. 13.
The Central Connecticut women's basketball team hosts Lehigh University in its 2018-19 home-opener on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 11:00 a.m. inside William H. Detrick Gymnasium in New Britain, CT. The contest marks the 4th meeting between the two squads in program history.

LAST TIMEOUT • The Blue Devils return to their home floor after opening the 2018-19 campaign against Ivy League opponent Brown. CCSU fell 68-63 and was led by senior Kiana Patterson who scored 21 points in 34 minutes of action. Lehigh enters its second contest of the year after defeating Kutztown 73-39 at home on Tuesday Nov. 6
MOUTAINHAWK MATCHUP • The Mountain Hawks had three players; junior Camyn Buhr (13), senior Hailey Pascoe (12), and freshman Emma Grothaus (13) score in double figures against the Golden Bears. The team posted 37 points off the bench with 12 different players putting up points. Lehigh is coming off a 15-15 overall and 9-9 Patriot League record from the 2017-18 season and returns over 70 percent of its teams scoring from last season. The Mountain Hawks are predicted to finish fourth according to the Patriot League Women's Basketball Preseason Poll.
SERIES HISTORY • Lehigh holds a 3-0 advantage in the all-time series record with the Blue Devils. The last time Central met up with the Mountain Hawks was back in the 1990-91 season with the CCSU prevailing 81-75.
BY THE NUMBERS • The Bethlehem, PA crew returns three starters and 11 returners in total from last season. The returning leader in assits, junior Hannah Hedstrom, recorded 99 assists last season. Junior Camryn Buhr returns after averaging 12.5 points per game and led the Mountain Hawks with 6.8 rebounds per game.
UP NEXT • The Blue Devils will next embark on a road trip to Piscataway, N.J., to match up with the Rutgers Scarlet Knights of the Big Ten. The game will be played on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 7:00 p.m. inside the Rutgers Athletic Center. Central returns to New Britain for its second home game of the year on Saturday, Dec. 1 against Buffalo at 1:00 p.m.
