Women's Basketball Welcomes the Bulldogs Saturday Afternoon
The Blue Devils look to top Yale prior to breaking for finals week.

The Central Connecticut women's basketball team hosts the Yale Bulldogs inside Detrick Gymnasium at 1:00 p.m. Saturday's contest marks the 15th meeting between the Blue Devils and their New Haven foe.

LAST TIMEOUT • The Blue Devils were shorted on Wednesday, Dec. 6 at Hartford, 68-52, at Chase Family Arena. Graduate student Morgan Johnson carried CCSU with a season-high 13 points, including four triples, four rebounds and two assists. Central was 17-of-22 from the foul line led by a flawless 7-for-7 showing from junior Kiana Patterson.
CLUTCH FROM THE LINE • Lydon currently ranks second in the NEC and 68th in the country for free throw percentage, .867. The junior has converted 26-of-30 foul shots this year. Lydon has not missed a free throw in the past four games for CCSU with a perfect 14-for-14.
THE BULLDOGS • Yale is last in the Ivy League in three-point field goal percentage averaging just .255 as a team. Three of Yale's five starters are averaging double figures led by senior guard Tamara Simpson with 16.6 ppg. The Bulldogs' 6'2" senior forward, Jen Berkowitz, ranks first on team and third in the Ivy League in rebounding, snagging 8.8 boards per game.
LYDON LEADS • The junior from Allison Park, PA leads the Blue Devils in points (12.9), reboudns (6.1), assists (2.1) and steals (1.1) per game. Lydon drained 23 and a season-high 25 points on back-to-back occasions in CCSU's home-opener against Brown (Nov. 16) and at Penn State (Nov. 20).
SERIES HISTORY • The New Haven group holds a 9-5 advantage in the overall series history with CCSU. The last time the two battled on the same court dates back to the 2002-03 season where Yale prevailed 78-65.
UP NEXT • Following an entire week off, the Blue Devils will return to the hardwood on Sunday, Dec. 17 in Long Island, NY at Stony Brook for a 2:00 p.m. start.
