Women's Basketball Hosts Saint Francis U. at 2PM Monday

The Central Connecticut women's basketball team host Saint Francis U. on Monday (Presidents' Day), Feb. 20 at 2:00 p.m. inside Detrick Gym in New Britain, CT. Both the Blue Devils and the Red Flash head into Monday's match on a three-game losing streak.

Previously For Both Teams • League leading Robert Morris stopped Central on Saturday, 62-39, and Saint Francis last fell at Bryant, 85-70. Last time the two squads met, CCSU lost, 87-81, in Loretto, PA. Andi Lydon led the Blue Devils with a career-high 29 points and 14 rebounds. SFU's Jessica Kovatch hit a career-high nine three pointers and scored 45 points.
Series History (11-27) • The Red Flash hold a 27-to-11 advantage in the overall series first meetingduring the 1987-88 season. CCSU swept Saint Francis during last years regular season, first defeating the at home on Jan. 23, 66-51, and then again on Feb. 6 in Loretto, 79-59. The two squads metfor the third time in the NEC Quarterfinals on March 6, where SFU prevailed, 83-77, to advance and conclude Central's 2015-16 season.
A Look At Ace • While Kovatch is known as threat from anywhere on the offensive side of the floor, teammate Ace Harrison is atop a variety of categories. Harrison is the NEC's top rebounder (9.0 rpg.), first in steals (2.15 spg.) second in field goal percentage (50.7%), and sixth in scoring (13.4 ppg.).
KEY-Ana • Patterson's six three's at St. Francis Brooklyn on Dec. 31, tied her for third all-time for most single-game three-pointers. Kiana ranks third in the NEC for three-point field goals made, averaging 2.2 per game. The sophomore is now in second place in the all-time school record books for most single-season three-pointers, accumulating 58 on the year, passing Leanna Crockett's 57 three's ('09-'10).
Following the Flash • The Saint Francis Red Flash are number one in the following NEC statistical categories: blocked shots, assists, steals, turnover margin, and three-pointers made (288). Collectively SFU is shooting 39.9% the field, and 31.8% from downtown. Jessica Kovatch, the NEC's leading scorer, carries the Red Flash with 21.2 ppg. Saint Francis struggles with defensive rebounds, giving up a conference worst, 46.6 boards per game, where as CCSU is second in the NEC with 39.5 boards per game.
Getting on the Glass • Central Connecticut sits at second in the rebounding standings in the NEC, averaging 39.5 boards per game. Led by Reynoso as the league top offsenive rebounder with (76) 3.04 per game.
