Women's Hoops' Begin Four-Game Road Series At The Mount Saturday
Central Connecticut looks to bounce back from its, 62-68, loss at home against LIU Brooklyn last Monday, at Mount St. Mary's.
The Central Connecticut women's basketball team visits Mount St. Mary's on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. inside Knotts Arena in Emmitsburg, MD. The Blue Devils last topped the Mount back on January 9, 68-58 at home.

Previously For Both Teams • CCSU fell to LIU Brooklyn last Monday, Jan. 30, 62-68, in New Britain. Mount St. Mary's most recently took down league-leader, Sacred Heart, 61-59. Alexis Carter and Mikal Johnson combined for 30 points in the Mountaineer victory.
Getting on the Glass • Central Connecticut sits at the top of the rebounding standings in the NEC, averaging 15.5 offensive, and 29.9 defensive boards per game. The New Britain group has been dominating its challengers on the glass by a double-figure margin of 10.0 rebounds. CCSU is first in the league in rebounding margin, gathering 7.6 more than second place Bryant.
Series History (12-24) • The Mount holds a 12-game advantage in the series history, with Monday marking the 37th meeting between the two squads. Last season the Blue Devils fell in both matches with MSM, falling, 54-48, on the road, and, 59-55, inside Detrick Gymnasium.
No Freebie's • Mount St. Mary's currently ranks second in the league in free throw shooting percentage at 74.1%, making 140-of-189 attempts. Caroline Hummell leads the team making 41-for-45 (91.1%) foul shots for MSM.
Last Timeout • Central shot 38.3% (23-60) from the field, and LIU made 22-of-58 (37.9%) shots on the night. Fellow seniors Giocelis Reynoso and Aleah Epps both tallied 18 points apiece, and Reynoso grabbed 12 rebounds for her fifth double-double this season. Three players from LIU scored in double-figures, led by Dionne Coe with 18 points including 3-of-3 from behind the arc.
KEY-Ana • Second year Blue Devil Kiana Patterson, has proven to be CCSU's key three-point threat against NEC opponents, draining 22-of-62 (35.5%). Patterson's six three's at St. Francis Brooklyn on Dec. 31, tied her for third all-time for most single-game three-pointers. The sophomore is only two triples behind her fifth place mark in the record books for most three's made in a season, 48 ('15-16).
Scouting the Mount • Alexis Carter leads the Mountaineers as the only double-figure scorer with 11.9 ppg, converting 44.0% of her attempts from the field. Carter is also Mount's top-rebounder pulling down 7.7 boards per game.
Rejected by Reynoso • Senior Giocelis Reynoso sent back a career high five of Saint Francis' shots which ties her for fourth all-time for most blocked shots in a single-game. The NEC's fourth ranked shot-blocker, brings her season blocked shots total to 36, just one away from tying Keisha Carmichael ('89-90) and Kirsten Daamen ('09-10) for most blocked shots in a single season.
