Blue Devils Look to Remain Perfect in NEC Play at LIU Brooklyn Monday
Central Connecticut women's basketball faces off against the Blackbirds of LIU Brooklyn on Monday at 2:00 p.m.
The Central Connecticut women's basketball team (6-10, 5-0 NEC) travels to LIU Brooklyn (2-14, 1-4 NEC) to take on the Blackbirds inside Steinberg Wellness Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. at 2:00 PM.
The women's basketball team will travel to Pennsylvania next for a pair of road games. CCSU will first challenge the St. Francis Red Flash in Loretto, P.A. on Jan. 21 at 12:00 p.m. on ESPN3. Then, the Colonials of Robert Morris will host the Blue Devils on Monday, Jan. 23 at 7:00 p.m. in Moon Township, PA. Central Connecticut will hold its Alumni Day game versus Bryant on Jan. 28 at 1:00p.m.

Previously For Both Teams • The Blue Devils won by a 19-point cushion (68-49) over visiting Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday. The Blackbirds fell short to St. Francis Brooklyn on Saturday at home, 54-56.
Series History • LIU Brooklyn leads the overall series record 18-15 over the Blue Devils. Both squads earned a victory against each other last season, with Central last topping the Blackbirds at Steinberg Wellness Center, 65-57, last February 15th. Sophomore Kiana Patterson netted agame high 16 points in the victory. The Blue Devils dropped their home contest with LIU, 59-45, on January 4th.
Lydon Lights It Up • Sophomore Andi Lydon is coming of fof two hot-shooting performances against The Mount (Jan.9) and Fairleigh Dickinson (Jan. 14), where she drained 17 and a career high 18 points, respectively. Lydon is converting a stifling average of 60.0% field goals in the past two contests.
Last Time Out • The Blue Devils were led by sophomore Andi Lydon who had 18 points and 11 rebounds for her second double-double of the season. Senior Giocelis Reynoso finished with a career high 13 points and nine rebounds for CCSU.
Scouting the Blackbirds • Shanovia Dove is the Blackbirds leading scorer, tallying 14.5 points per game, and has recorded a team high 27 steals this year. Aja Boyd is shooting an LIU best 44.5% from the floor, and snagging 6.2 boards per contest. Collectively, LIU is shooting just 27.7% from long-range, and is getting out-rebounded by an average margin of 4.4 rpg.
