Women's Basketball Plays at St. Francis Brooklyn for New Year's Eve Showdown

Previously For Both Teams • Both teams began Northeast Conference play on Thursday, Dec. 29 with a win. CCSU comfortably put away the Wagner Seahawks, 66-53, on it's home court in New Britain, CT, and St. Francis topped Bryant, 63-47.
Series History (27-9) • Saturday's contest marks the 37th meeting between Central and SFBK. The Blue Devils hold a 27-to-9 advantage in the series. Last season Central beat the Terriers in both showings with scores of, 67-61, and an overtime victory, 65-61.
Last Timeout • The Central Connecitcut women's basketball team began its 2016-17 Northeast Conference campaign with a, 66-53, win over Wagner Thursday night inside Detrick Gymnasium. Freshman Cebria Outlow shined with a career high double-double performance with 18 points, 17 rebounds, and six assists. The Blue Devils turned the Seahawks over 21 times, while only giving up 11 possessions.
Scouting the Terriers • St. Francis is shooting a conference-best 76.8 percent from the foul line, and 37.8 percent from the field. Olivia Levey leads the squad in scoring wtih 13.0 points per game, and is also pulling down 6.1 rebounds per contest. Maria Palarino's 57.5 percent shooting from downtown will make the Blue Devils' defense keep a close eye on her. Palarino is also grabbing a team-best 6.6 boards per game.
