Softball Ends Regular Season with a Win Over Stonehill on Senior Day

RECORDS: CCSU (20-14, 13-7 NEC), Stonehill (4-41, 2-18 NEC) 

KEY MOMENTS 

• Paige Stringer hit a two-run homer to left field in the bottom of the first to give the Blue Devils the 2-0 lead. 

• In the bottom of the fifth Ashlyn Desaulniers doubled to center to drive in runners on second and third.  

• In the next at bat, Meg Gorman tripled to left center to bring Desaulniers home and give the Blue Devils the 5-0 advantage. 

• Stringer kept the momentum going, hitting an RBI double. Kim Howard followed with an RBI single, leaving CCSU with one more run to score to end the game. 

• Kendall LaMorte doubled to center to drive in the final run, ending the game in the bottom of the fifth. 

NOTES   

• The Blue Devils honored their three seniors, Molly Bruyns, Hannah French, and Kim Howard, after the game. 

• This was the final game of the regular season. Today's win puts Central second in the conference standings with a conference record of 14-7 going into the NEC Tournament. 

• CCSU had ten hits in today's game and eight RBIs. 

• Stringer hit her second homer of the three-game series and her sixth of the season. 

• Kaylee Whittaker earned the win in the pitching circle, improving her record to 20-9.
