The Mount scored four times in the bottom of the first to take control of the game.

The Blue Devils got on the board in the top of the second when Ava Cino doubled with one out off of Maddie Coleman. Grace Lawton then grounded out to third and an error on Mount's shortstop, Mariah Godde, allowed Cino to score.

Mount Saint Mary scored again in the bottom of the second when Brianna Manni hit a single to center field, driving in Maggie Kane for the run.

The Blue Devils attempted to rally in the sixth when Brooke Fedison doubled to right center. She advanced to third when Ashlyn Desaulniers grounded out to shortstop, and then scored on a Jazmin Lasane sacrifice fly to make the score 5-2. Kim Howard grounded out to shortstop to end the inning.

Coleman was able to seal the deal with a 1-2-3 top of the seventh.
