Softball Drops Pair On Sunday At Battle Of The Bay

RECORDS CCSU (1-3), Stony Brook (4-4) Colgate (5-7) 

KEY MOMENTS VS STONY BROOK 

• Stony Brook jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on a two-run homer from Corinne Badger in the top of the first inning 

• The Seawolves added three runs in the top half of the third inning, this time on a home run from Alyssa Costello 

• Stony Brook struck again in the fourth, with a Kyra McFarland RBI single to make the score 6-0 

• Kim Howard took a 2-0 pitch to left field, with a runner on, in the bottom of the fifth ining to make the score 6-2 

• Grace Lawton went yard in the bottom of the sixth, putting a 1-1 pitch over the left center field fence 

• Stony Brook plated a pair of runs in the top of the seventh frame 

KEY MOMENTS VS COLGATE 

• Colgate took control of the game with a seven-run second inning, starting with a two-run homerun from Quinn Livesay 

• The Blue Devils got on the board with a double steal in the top of the third inning, when Brooke Fedison stole home as the front-end of a double steal with Ashlyn Desaulniers 

• Desaulniers came around to score on an RBI ground out from Kim Howard. 

• Skylar Warn homered in the top of the fourth, on the first pitch she saw, to make the score 8-3 

• A sacrifice fly from Cate Murray in the bottom of the fifth scored Whalen to close out the scoring 

NOTES 

• The Blue Devils hit three homeruns on Sunday 

• Warn went 2-2 in the game versus Colgate, and earned a walk 

• Howard was 2-6 with three RBI in the two games
