Bolan, Eigenmann, and Milius Earn Post Season Honors
Central finished the 2019 season 17-24 overall.
The Central Connecticut softball team had three players receive post season recognition. Sophomore Sydney Bolan was named to the 2019 Northeast Conference First Team and freshmen Rian Eigenmann and Alexa Milius were named to the All-Rookie Team, it was announced by the front office on Wednesday afternoon.
Bolan played in all 41 games of the season for the Blue Devils. The designated hitter averaged a .338 behind the plate and hit a team-high 10 home runs. The Fairport, NY native totaled a team-high 39 RBIs and 44 hits on 130 at bats. Bolan had a game-high five RBIs along with two hits and two runs in CCSU's 18-7 win over Rider on March 24.
Eigenmann started at catcher in all 41 games this season. She was third on the team in batting average at .333. She led the Blue Devils in hits (48), doubles (11), and stolen bases (18). The Millville, NJ native totaled 202 put outs and 33 assists. Eigenmann was second on the team for RBIs with 22 and named the NEC Player of the Week and Co-Rookie of the Week during the season (week of March 26).
Milius saw action in 34 games this season playing infield. She held the highest batting average on the team at .374. The rookie was second on the team in slugging percentage (.505), second for on base percentage (.430), and third for runs scored (19). In her 107 at bats, she totaled 40 hits, nine doubles, one home run, and 18 RBIs. In the field, the Thomaston, CT native had 202 total catches, 158 putouts, and 35 assists.
