Debrosse Selected to All-NEC Second Team
Junior shortstop Alexis Debrosse was selected to the All-NEC Second Team as announced by the league's front office on Wednesday, May 10.
Junior shortstop Alexis Debrosse was selected by the Northeast Conference to the All-NEC Second Team on Wedneday, May 10th. Debrosse led the league in fielding percentage (.964) from her position as she committed just five errors all season and just two in all 16 conference games.
The New Bedford, Massachusetts product connected on a team-high six home runs and carried a .426 batting percentage with runners on base during NEC play.
In addition to being reliable in the field and at the plate, Debrosse was second of the Central Connecticut softball team in stolen bases with eight on the season.
In the Blue Devils' home opener on March 25 against America East member, Albany, Debrosse went 3-for-4, belting three homers, including a grand slam, en route to a career high seven RBI in a game to remember. CCSU swept Albany in the series, 13-5 and 9-1.
Following Debrosse's exceptional performance against Albany, the Central Connecticut shortstop was named the Northeast Conference Co-Player of the Week on March 27. During the seventh week, Debrosse was on fire slugging 1.067 and hitting .467 as a force to be reckoned with at the plate.
