Montemurro Named to the NEC All-Tournament Team
Central Connecticut senior Elizabeth Montemurro was named to the 2011 Northeast Conference Softball All-Tournament Team. Central's top hurler this season, Montemurro started both of her team's games in their first NEC Tournament and allowed only three earned runs in 10.1 innings pitched.

Montemurro pitched a complete game in the Blue Devils game one loss to Robert Morris. She pitched six innings and allowed a single unearned run. She scattered seven hits in the game while striking out five Colonials.
She returned to the mound for the second game of the day against Quinnipiac and allowed three earned runs in 4.1 innings. Unfortunately, she also allowed four unearned runs which led to the Blue Devils being eliminated from the NEC Tournament.
Montemurro became the Blue Devils all-time leader in wins on May 3, when she defeated Holy Cross. She extended her record to 36 wins with a victory over Seton Hall on May 5. She is also second all-time in strike outs and innings pitched at CCSU.
