Softball Takes Doubleheader at Temple
Central Connecticut softball improves to (6-7) after taking a doubleheader on the road over Atlantic 10 opponent Temple in Philadelphia, PA. Temple #$%^drops to (6-13) . Central took game one of the day by a score o 6-1 and capped the day with a 4-1 win in the second game. Central Connecticut was #$%^led by solid pitching performances by junior Liz Montemurro in game one and sophomore Abby Harpp in game two, both pitched a complete game and #$%^allowing only one run in their outings.

Central Connecticut was led by solid pitching performances by junior Elizabeth Montemurro in game one and sophomore Abby Harpp in game two, both pitched a complete game and allowing only one run in their outings.
Central Connecticut opened the scoring of game one in the top of the first inning when Junior Katherine Knowles hit a two run home run to right center field scoring senior Sara Budrick who drew a walk to reach base.
The Owls answered back in the bottom of the second inning when sophomore Christina Sykora had a RBI single up the middle to score senior Michelle Lerner who reached base on an a fielders choice.
The Blue Devils scored again in the top of the third inning to make the Blue Devil lead 3-1, when sophomore Sarah Vlahos had a RBI base hit to right center, scoring sophomore Rebecca Mussatti who reached base on an error by the third baseman. The Blue Devils kept the offense going in the top of the sixth inning when Knowles doubled to centerfield and later scored on a passed ball after Vlahos advanced her to third base on a ground out.
In game two of the doubleheader Central Connecticut topped Temple 6-1. The Blue Devils got on the score board first when junior Erica Koehler homered for Central in the Top of the third inning. The Blue Devils were also led by sophomore Sara Mussatti who had two hits in four at bats and senior Sarah Budrick who had three hits in four at bats with two RBI and a homerun for the Blue Devils.
Central Connecticut will be back in action Saturday March 19 for a doubleheader against LaSalle at 12:00 pm.
