Norstrom Leads Cross Country at ECAC/IC4A Championships
The Blue Devils' cross country season is completed.
The Central Connecticut men's cross country program ran at the ECAC/IC4A Championships in Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, NY. CCSU finished 11th out of 25 teams. Junior Alex Norstrom led the Blue Devils runners, finishing in 21st place out of 203 runners.
The meet completes the Central cross country season.
Norstrom completed the five-mile course in a time of 25:51.9. Senior Ryan Hertzog was the next Blue Devil to cross the finish line, completing the course in 26:07.4.
Sophomore Roberto Piotto finished in 26:32.2 and placed 55th. Junior Austin Trainor crossed the tape in 26:42.6 and placed 67th.
Sophomore Richard Grudzwick finished in 27:11.5, while freshman Charles Taubl finished in 17:31.9 to place 95th, and 112th, respectively. Sophomore Julio Arredondo rounded out the scoring for CCSU, completing the course in 28:31.2.
Juniors Kyle Welch and Adony Langual also ran for CCSU, turning in times of 28:55.8 and 29:39.4.
Temple won the team title with a score of 43 points.
Central completed its cross country season, which included a ninth straight Northeast Conference championship.
