Men's Cross Country Races at New England Championships
Blue Devils place 12th overall as a team.
The Central Connecticut men's cross country team placed 12th out of 34 teams at Franklin Park in Boston, MA, at the New England Championships. Altogether the Blue Devils finished the 8k course in an average time of 25:55.5.
The first of the seven Central runners to finish was senior Joseph Gioielli, who came in 32nd place out of 221 total participants. Gioielli ran a time of 25:31.2, and was followed by sophomore Austin Trainor who recorded a 35th place finish with a time of 25:34.1.
Senior Tyler Raymond ran a 25:46.7 time, good for a 49th place finish. Next in for the Blue Devils were juniors Colin Sauter and Brendan Callahan who ran the course in 26:20.8 and 26:24.7, respectively.
Rounding out the Central runners were two sophomores, Alex Norstrom and Robert Piotto, with times of 26:42.1 and 27:34.2.
