Men's Cross Country Places Fourth at Father Bede Invitational
Callahan finishes eighth to lead the Blue Devils.
The Central Connecticut men's cross country team placed fourth at the season-opening Father Bede Invitational at Saint Francis U. in Loretto, PA. Junior Brendan Callahan placed eighth individually to lead the Blue Devils
Callahan had a 5:33 pace and ran the course in 17:13 to place eighth among 58 runners. Junior Eric Davidson and senior Malcolm Connor recorded top-20 finishes, placing 18th and 19th, respectively. Davidson completed the course in 17:32 and Connor was right behind him at 17:33.
Freshman Richard Grudzwick placed 22nd overall and finished the race in 17:40. Senior Derek French rounded out the CCSU scorers and placed 32nd overall with a time of 18:30. Sophomore Kevin Rivera also ran and had a time of 18:36, to finish 35th individually.
The Blue Devils placed fourth with 91 points. Sacred Heart won the team standings with 33 points.
CCSU will next run at the Iona Meet of Champions on Friday, Sept. 16. The meet will take place in Van Cortlandt Park.
