Men's XC Sets 2014 Schedule
The slate will feature three meets on the Blue Devils’ home course in New Britain, including the Northeast Conference Championship on November 1.
The five-time Northeast Conference Champion Central Connecticut men's cross country team has set its schedule for the 2014 season. The slate will feature three meets on the Blue Devils' home course in New Britain, including the Northeast Conference Championship on November 1.
The Blue Devils will open the 2014 season on August 30 at the Marist Invitational in Poughkeepsie, NY. That will be followed with Iona College's Br. Doyle Meet of Champions on September 20. On Sept. 27 the Blue Devils will host the Ted Owen Invitational at Stanley Quarter Park.
CCSU will look to defend its title at the New England Championship on October 11 at Franklin Park in Boston, MA, and the final tune-up for the NEC Championship will be the CCSU Mini Meet held on Oct. 24 at Stanley Park in New Britain.
The Blue Devils will be looking to extend their streak of five straight team titles and four consecutive individual champions on November 1 at the 2014 NEC Championships. CCSU last hosted the conference title meet at Stanley Quarter Park in 2010, winning the second championship in program history.
On November 22, the Blue Devils will compete at the IC4A/ECAC Championships held at Van Cortland Park in the Bronx, NY. CCSU will also have the opportunity to compete at the NCAA Regionals on Nov. 14 and potentially the NCAA Championship on Nov. 22.
The IC4A/ECAC Championships will be held on the same course as the Br. Doyle Meet of Champions.
"We look forward to once again hosting the NEC Championship at Stanley Quarter Park here in New Britain," head coach Eric Blake said when speaking about both the men's and women's cross country schedules. "Our focus will continue to be on our meets in November, and we are excited that our regular season schedule gives us the opportunity to preview and race on those championship courses."
