Bio
Dylan Dombrowksi enters his first season as assistant coach for
the Blue Devil track and field teams. A former University of
Connecticut Husky, Dombrowski was a consistent scorer as a multi
eventer, pole vaulter and javelin thrower for
UCONN. He scored in the New England, Big East and
IC4A Championships. Dombrowski also earned All-Big East Academic
honors.
His personal best marks include 4.80m (15'9") in the indoor pole
vault, 63.71m (209'.25") in the javelin, 4,813 in
the heptathlon and 6,324 in the decathlon.
In addition to coaching, Dombrowski also competes in club track and
field for ConnQuest (CQ), based out of Broadbrook, CT. He was
a USATF Club All-American in 2010 after his third-place finish
in the javelin at nationals, as well as a multiple-time club
national scorer and USATF East Region Champion. He holds a
"clinic PB" of 218' in the javelin held at the 2012 Rich DeStefano
Javelin Clinic.
Dombrowski graduated from the University of Connecticut in the
spring of 2011 with a degree in exercise science with a
concentration in strength and conditioning. He is currently
pursuing a master's degree at UCONN in exercise physiology.
Dombrowski is a USTFCCCA level one coach and has worked for
many fitness and track and field camps throughout the
northeast as well as served as a volunteer coach at his high school
Alma Mater.
Prior to attending Connecticut, the Breezy Point, NY native attended Archbishop Molloy High School where he was a member of the varsity cross country and track and field teams. While attending Molloy, Dombrowski was a three-time high school All-American in the shuttle hurdle relay and the open decathlon.
Dombrowski currently resides in Storrs, CT while he completes his master's degree at UCONN.
