Blue Devils Smash Records at Raleigh Relays

Today CCSU track and field competed at day two of the Raleigh Relays meet on Raleigh, NC. The Blue Devils have broken three program records at this meet so far, giving their outdoor season an exciting start.

Today CCSU track and field competed at day two of the Raleigh Relays meet on Raleigh, NC. The Blue Devils have broken three program records at this meet so far, giving their outdoor season an exciting start. 

  • Ed Williams Jr. kicked off day two for the Blue Devils with a bang, breaking the school record in the 110m hurdles. He placed 6th overall with a time of 14.09.  

  • Ashley Dana followed suit, breaking the CCSU record in the women's 1,500m run (4:25.42). 

  • Cam Whalen also competed in the men's 110m hurdle race, crossing the finish line in 16.13. 

  • Central had three athletes compete in the women's 100m dash including Kalesha Darisme (12.35 - personal best), Tamara Rawles (12.50), and Adriana Brathwaite (12.84 - personal best). Rawles also ran in the 400m dash, finishing in 58.77. 

  • Williams and Jovan Dixon ran in the men's 100m dash, finishing in 10.86 and 10.95, respectively. 

  • As for field events, Alissa Hurd placed 22nd in the high jump, leaping for 1.62m. 

  • Israel Henriques-Setho snagged the 16th spot in the men's triple jump with a new personal best of 14.05m. 

  • Andrew McCarthy placed 18th in the discus throw with a 47.47m toss.
