Men's Track & Field Takes Fourth at the NEICAAA Indoor Championships

Men's track and field competed in day two of the 2023 NEICAAA Indoor Championships today at the TRACK at New Balance in Boston, MA. They finished fourth out of 27 teams, scoring 51 points. 

FINAL RESULTS 

• Israel Henriques-Setho took sixth place in the men's triple jump, leaping for 13.78m. 

• James Sullivan snagged second in the mile, crossing the finish line with a time of 4:13.19. 

• Edward Williams Jr. advanced to the men's 60m hurdle final after finishing with a time of 8.12 in prelims. He placed third overall in finals (8.20). 

• Jovan Dixon also landed himself a spot in finals after running the 60m dash prelim in 6.78. He finished sixth in finals with a time of 7.00. 

• Gabriel Kwarteng took seventh in the 500m dash, finishing in 1:07.22. 

• Aiden Budge ran the 800m race in 1:55.16, good for fourth place. 

• Jake Ireland was the runner up in the 1000m run with a time of 2:29.23, just a hundredth of a second behind the first-place finisher. 

• CCSU's men's 4x800m relay (Chris Abbey, Aiden Budge, Ryan McCauley, and Jake Ireland) finished sixth with a time of 7:48.83. 

• The 4x400 relay (Jovan Dixon, Cam Whalen, Gabriel Kwarteng, and Edward Williams Jr.) placed fourth with a time of 3:19.60.  

ICYMI - Day One Highlights: 

• Andrew McCarthy finished 11th in the men's weight throw with a 16.41m toss. 

• Israel Henriques-Setho took sixth place in the long jump, leaping for 6.64m. 

• Gabriel Kwarteng earned himself a spot in the 500m dash final after placing eighth in prelims with a time of 1:06.74. 

• Aiden Budge ran the men's 800m race in a time of 1:56.21, good for eighth place and a spot in finals. 

• Jake Ireland will return for finals tomorrow in the 1000m run after snagging second place in prelims with a time of 2:30.68. 

• Yankarlos Diaz finished fourth in the men's 5000m run final. He completed the race in 14:58.22.
