NEC Announces McCauley as Rookie of the Week

Ryan McCauley of the Central Connecticut men's indoor track and field team was named the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the league's office Tuesday afternoon.

McCauley trimmed more than 1.0 second off his previous seasonal best in the 800m run. Contesting the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational, the CCSU freshman completed the race in 1:56.07. That performance placed the Nutmeg State product amongst the top 40 percent of finishers at the meet. McCauley owns the fastest time amongst NEC freshmen and ranks 13th overall on the conference leader board.

McCauley and the CCSU men's track and field team prepares for the NEC Championships on February 21-22.
