Latham, Norstrom Earn USTFCCA All-Academic Recognition
Pair recognized for accomplishments in the classroom and on the track.
Seniors Tyler Latham and Alex Norstrom of the Central Connecticut men's track and field team were recognized by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) with All-Academic Individual awards it was announced. The pair added the honor to their team and individual accomplishments from the season.

Latham and Norstrom were among 624 men to earn USTFCCCA All-Academic honors. To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track & Field Team, the student athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have met at least one of the following athletic standards:
- For the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org.
- For the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
Latham, an accounting major, was also named to the Northeast Conference Academic Honor Roll. He helped the Blue Devils win the league's indoor track & field team title this year and claim second during the outdoor season. Individually, Latham defended his NEC javelin title with a 62.06 meter throw to set a personal mark at the outdoor championships.
Norstrom, a journalism major, was also a member of the NEC Academic Honor Roll. He also competed in the 10,000 meter run at the NCAA East Preliminary after qualifying with a personal-record time of 29:57.96 at the Bison Outdoor Classic. Norstrom posted a third-place finish at the Northeast Conference Championships with a time of 31:18.84 and earned a second-place finish in the event at the IC4A/ECAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a time of 30:19.17.
