Blake Named NEC Coach of the Year, Men's Track Earns Nine All-Conference Nods
Head coach Eric Blake was named the 2018 NEC Men's Indoor Track and Field Coach of the Year.
On Tuesday afternoon, Central Connecticut head coach Eric Blake was named the 2018 Northeast Conference Men's Indoor Track and Field Coach of the Year for the first time in his career after leading the men's team to its second NEC Title in program history this season. The honor marks the 11 th Coach of the Year award (7-XC; 3-Outdoor; 1-Indoor) Blake has earned during nine seasons at the helm of the cross country and track and field teams.
In addition, the league announced the 2018 All-NEC selections, highlighting one major award winner and nine all-conference picks on the men's side and three all-conference selections from the women's team.
Earning a share of the Most Outstanding Field Performer (Jumps) and a spot on the All-NEC First Team was sophomore Marquis Ward who won the 2018 NEC High Jump Title (2.04m).
Blake has won 15 collective Northeast Conference Championships (9-XC; 6-Track) and 22 indoor men's indoor individual champions.
