Men's Track Competes at IC4A Championships, Sunday
Following Saturday's rain delay, CCSU competed on Sunday at the IC4A Championships at Princeton.
The Central Connecticut men's outdoor track and field team was able to finish this year's IC4A Championships on Sunday, May 14th following Saturday's rain cancellation. The IC4A committee compiled both days of events into one adjusted schedule for the final day of competition. The Blue Devils were led by junior Tyler Latham who placed sixth overall in the javelin with a throw of 58.31 meters.
CCSU sophomore Quincy Sanchez ran in the 110m hurdles and took 13th place with a time of 14.76. Rookie Jonathan Gill had a good showing in the 800m run, clocking in at 1:53.85 just outside of his personal best time of 1:52.00 set at the 2017 Larry Ellis Invitational.
Senior Joseph Gioielli and sophomore Kyle Welch competed in Williamstown, MA at Williams College for the 2017 New England Championships. Gioielli placed 15th with a mark of 3:56.59 in the 1,500m run. Welch ran a time of 10:11.94 in the 3,000m steeple chase to take 17th place.
On Friday, senior Tyler Raymond finished in seventh place overall in the 10K after crossing the finish line at 30:46.73. In the men's 3,000m steeplechase, junior Austin Trainor placed finished in eighth place in the standings with a time of 9:06.76.
