Men's Track Completes IC4A Championships
The Blue Devils were led by juniors Jamal Fruster and Jordan Watkins in the second day of IC4A competition.
The Central Connecticut men's track and field team completed competition at the 2014 IC4A Outdoor Championships in Princeton, NJ Saturday after opening the competition on Friday.
SATURDAY
Junior Jordan Watkins tallied the highest Blue Devil finish of the day on Saturday, posting a time of 14.85 seconds, good for 17th place overall in the prelim round. Watkins finished just one spot away from qualifying for the semifinals.
Junior Jamal Fruster also raced Saturday. He finished the 400m dash in a time of 49.24 for 28th.
In the 4x400m relay, the Blue Devils finished 20th in a field of 26. The squad crossed the finish line in 3:18.14 and consisted of freshman Zach Andrews, sophomore Malcolm Connor and juniors Chris Savvidou and Ryan Budd.
FRIDAY
Junior Matt Walker led the Blue Devils Friday. He crossed the line in 30:00.31 for a silver medal, posting a new career-best time in the event.
Senior Craig Hunt, the 5,000m Individual Champion at this year's NEC Outdoor Championships, raced a time of 14:31.93 in the event Friday, good for 13th place.
Hunt was followed by junior Patrick Hubbell who crossed the finish line in 15:10.43.
