NEC Tabs Alexander Athlete of the Week
Sam Alexander gathers his second NEC honor of the outdoor season.

Central Connecticut senior Sam Alexander was named Northeast Conference Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday for the second time this outdoor track & field season.
Alexander ran in the 5,000m at this past weekend's Penn Relays and chalked up the top time in the NEC this spring season. Alexander crossed the line at 14:07.77 to register a top-10 finish at the annual track meet. His performance at the Penn Relays will enter him into the upcoming NEC Outdoor Championships with more than a 13-second lead on the rest of the field.
Alexander will also aim to break the NEC Outdoor title meet record that former Saint Francis (PA) great Brian Sell set in 2001.
