Junior Rashad Williams finished 25th in the shot put at the 2011 NCAA East Preliminary. Williams posted a best throw of 16.78 meters to move up 12 spots from the 37th seed.
Williams had posted the NEC's best shot put mark earlier this season at the Penn Relays. His throw at Penn registered an impressive 17.13 meters. That mark seeded Williams 37th heading into the preliminary. He improved on his 37th seed by tossing the shot 16.78 meters (55' 0.25") to finish 25th.
Central Connecticut's other athlete at the meet is sophomore Aaron Radden. He will run in the 200 meter tomorrow evening.
