Late Goal Sinks Men's Soccer at Saint Francis U
The game-winning goal was scored with just over six minutes remaining.
A late goal was the difference as the Central Connecticut men's soccer team fell 1-0 at Saint Francis U on Sunday in Loretto, PA. The teams were even until just over six minutes remained and the Red Flash scored to earn the victory in Northeast Conference action.
CCSU travels to Sacred Heart on Sunday.

KEY MOMENTS
- The teams played a scoreless first half and CCSU had the first shot of the game just under three minutes into the game, but Zane Brown's kick went high. SFU would have a pair of shots on goal in a two-minute span, but Daniel Wilmore was able to smother the shots and keep the score 0-0.
- The best chance of the half game 15 minutes into the game when a Red Flash cross from the wing just missed linking up with a cutting attacker and sailed harmlessly wide.
- The only goal of the game came with just 6:30 remaining. Dallan Schoenberger would send a deep cross into the CCSU area and Wilmore came out to play the ball. Torren Aikens crashed towards the cross and the ball squirted to Alvaro Planas who tapped it in to make it 1-0.
- CCSU would press for the tying goal, nearly finding the back of the net in the 84th minute. Joey Perryman would break down the left wing and into the area. He managed to slide the ball to Ethan Agyare-Danso, whose shot was covered by Jordaine Jaeger. On the play, with the Blue Devils looking to play the ball loose a red card was shown and CCSU was a man down for the final five minutes.
