Men's Soccer Welcomes D'Ambrosio and Zobre to Staff
Central Connecticut men's soccer interim head coach Dave Kelly has added Carson D'Ambrosio and Bryan Zobre to his staff for the 2022 season it was announced. The pair are both CCSU alumni and D'Ambrosio will be the Director of Analytics and Zobre will serve as Assistant Coach.
"It's great to be able to welcome Carson back to Central," said Kelly. "He was an outstanding student-athlete for us, and he'll be great in the newly created position of Director of Analytics. He will be responsible for video analysis of the team, and opposition analysis. He will track key performance indicators, and provide reports to the coaching staff and team."
D'Ambrosio graduated from Central Connecticut in 2018 and earned his Master's in Strategic Communication in May 2020. He played in 40 career games for the Blue Devils from 2014-18 and made 142 career saves, while serving as a team captain. He trained with Hartford Athletic following his time with the Blue Devils before going into coaching. He was a goalkeeping coach with the Eastern Connecticut women's soccer program in 2020-21 and was most recently a goalkeeper coach and club coach with both FSA FC and the Connecticut Fusion. He helped CT Fusion to win the UWS East Conference and advance to the national finals. D'Ambrosio also has experience as a video editor/analyst with FSA FC. He holds a USSF National D License
"Having coached Bryan at the PDL level, and then later having him join my staff, I know he's a talented, dedicated professional," said Kelly. "He brings a wealth of experience in the area of fitness, strength and conditioning, and has his Bachelor's from CCSU in Exercise Science."
Zobre has extensive experience as both a coach and former player. He played at CCSU from 2005-07 where he earned his degree in Exercise Science. He would go on to play with the Mass Twisters (NISL), Harford City FC Colts (NPSL), Western Mass Pioneers (USL Second Division) and CFC Azul (US PDL). Since 2014, Zobre has worked with Connecticut Football Club in the ECNL, NECSL and EDP leagues. He also has conducted one-on-one and small group sessions at camps and clinics, while also conducting individual and small group training at Big Sky Fitness since 2010. He holds the United Soccer Coaches National Diploma and Goalkeeper Level 1 Diploma, as well as a US Soccer E License. Zobre also holds multiple fitness certifications.
