Yepes Scores in Fifth Straight, Men's Soccer Falls to LIU

Senior Eddie Yepes notched a goal for the fifth straight game, but the Central Connecticut men's soccer team fell to LIU, 3-1, on Friday at CCSU Soccer Field. The Sharks scored the first three goals of the game before Yepes converted a penalty with just over five minutes to play. Central is back in action on Friday, Nov. 1, when it hosts Merrimack.

• CCSU had two early chances saved by Demetri Skoumbakis to keep the game scoreless.
• LIU scored two goals in a two-minute span midway through the first half. Stefan Faistenauer scored a header off a corner at 27:30 to make it 1-0.
• Kyle Parish doubled the lead with a run from midfield off a turnover and had a sliding finish to make it 2-0 at 29:05.
• Camarri Johnson scored at 73:32 to increase the lead to three goals.
