Second Half Goal Separates LIU Brooklyn from Men's Soccer
The Blue Devils will be home against Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday.
A second half goal was the difference as Central Connecticut dropped a 1-0 contest at LIU Brooklyn on Friday night in Northeast Conference men's soccer action. The loss drops CCSU to 0-8-1 overall and 0-2 in the NEC, while LIU moves to 7-3-1 overall and 2-0 in the NEC.
The Blue Devils will be home against Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday at 3:00 p.m.
LIU's lone goal came in the 64th minute. A turnover led to an LIU counter-attack. Daniel Quiros sent a pass to Romario Guscott, who got past a CCSU defender and set up an open net to tap it in for the 1-0 lead.
The Blue Devils would press the attack and nearly tied the score in the 88th minute, but the shot from freshman Larson Richards went wide and LIU would hold on for the win.
LIU held a narrow 7-5 edge in shots and CCSU senior Carson D'Ambrosio made three saves in net. Freshman Panos Ravanis had a team-high three shots for Central.
Central returns home to host FDU on Sunday at 3:00 p.m.
