Men's Soccer Earns 1-1 Draw With UMass
The Blue Devils will host Columbia on Friday, Sept. 22, in a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.
Central Connecticut earned a 1-1 draw with Massachusetts on Tuesday night in men's soccer action at CCSU Soccer Field. The Blue Devils scored in the first half, while UMass notched a goal in the second half for the scoring. CCSU moves to 3-3-1 on the season.

Central had the better of play in the first half and opened the scoring just over 15 minutes into the game. Sophomore Andres Muriel Albino picked up the ball just outside the 18-yard box and slipped a pass to senior DeShawn Parker. He took one dribble in traffic and sent a low, curling shot just inside the far post to make it 1-0 at the 29:21 mark.
The Minutemen would open the second half pressing for a goal. UMass got on the board at the 66:22 mark when Jack Fulton picked up a deflection at held off the CCSU defender, sending a low shot to the right side to make it 1-1.
The teams each had 10 shots on the night, while senior Nick Velleca had four saves for the Blue Devils and Bardia Asefnia had four stops for the Minutemen.
Central returns to action on Friday, Sept. 22, when it hosts Columbia at 7:00 p.m.
