Men's Golf Finishes Second at Towson Spring Invitational
Blue Devils second in 17 team field on Sunday
The Central Connecticut men's golf team finished in second place after the second and final round of the Towson Spring Invitational on Sunday. Central held a three-shot lead after round, and shot a day two score of 312 on Sunday to finish behind tournament champion Saint Bonaventure. The Blue Devils were second in the 17 team field, and finished ahead of Northeast Conference competitors Sacred Heart, Fairleigh Dickinson, Robert Morris, Saint Francis U, LIU Brooklyn and Bryant who were all in the field.
Saint Bonaventure shot a team score of 303 on Sunday and finished with a two day score of 603, six shots ahead of CCSU. Towson was third, followed by Sacred Heart and the FDU in the top five.
Sophomore Arthur Ouimet finished in a tie for fourth place overall after a second round score of 80 gave him a two day total of 149. Senior Anthony Sebastianelli fired a 74 on Sunday to finish at 151 in a tie for ninth place.
Senior Brandon Raine shot 79 on Sunday to finish at 153, good for a tie for 18th place. Freshman Joe Tucker fired a 79 and finished at 156, good for a tie for 31st place overall. Classmate Nick Piersall shot an 80 on Sunday and finished at 157, in a tie for 33rd place.
Freshman Thomas Downing, playing as individual, shot a 75 on Sunday, matching his score from Saturday, to finish at 150, in a tie for sixth place overall. Sophomore John Aitken shot an 83 and finished in 84th place overall.
