Men's Golf Finishes Seventh at Lonnie Barton Invitational on Tuesday
Sebastianelli leads Blue Devils with 11th place finish
The Central Connecticut men's golf team finished in seeventh place in the 14 team field at the Lonnie Barton Invitational on Tuesday. The tournament was played at the LPGA International Golf Course in Daytona Beach, FL. Senior Anthony Sebastianelli led the Blue Devils with a two day score of 151, he finished in 11th place overall.
The Blue Devils shot a day two score of 320 to finish with a two round total of 623. Bethune-Cookman won the tournament with a score of 587, foillowed by Fort Wayne, Bryant, Sacred Heart, Saint Francis U, Fairleigh Dickinson and then CCSU.
Sebastianelli's two round total of 74-77 (151) was good for an 11th place finish in the tournament.
A trio of Blue Devils golfers tied for 24th. Freshman Nick Piersall shot a second round 75 to go with an 80 in the first round. He shot 155 for the tournament. Sophomore Arthur Ouimet (74-81) and freshman Thomas Dowing (75-80) also finished with 155 for the tournament.
Senior Aaron Donelli shot a two-round score of 159 (78-81) to finish tied for 40th. Senior Brandon Raine placed 63rd with a score of 166 (78-88). Freshman Joe Tucker rounded out the CCSU golfers with a score of 76-92 (168).
Sophomores John Aitken (88-90) and Andrew Szandrocha (87-102) rounded out the Blue Devils.
Central is in action at the Checkmate Match Play Challenge in Galloway, NJ, on March 31-April 1.
