Men's Golf Finishes Sixth at Ryan T. Lee Memorial Intercollegiate
Drew Aitken, playing as an individual, finishes in a tie for fourth place
Sophomore Drew Aitken finished in a tie for fourth place overall and the Central Connecticut men's golf team finished in sixth place after the second and final round of the Ryan T. Lee Memorial Intercollegiate on Sunday.
The tournament was played at Hopmeadow Country Club in Simsbury, CT, and was a par 72. Fordham won the team title (574), followed by Bentley (585), Bryant (587), St. Peter's (592), Monmouth (596) and then CCSU (601).
Aitken was playing as an individual and did not factor in the CCSU team score. The Blue Devils shot 297 as a team on Sunday, led by a 71 from senior Anthony Sebastianelli, to finish in sixth place overall.
Sebastianelli's round of 71 was the second best round in the entire field on day two. He finished in a tie for 21st place overall with a score of 149. Sophomore teammate Arthur Ouimet also shot 149 (74-75) to finish in a tie for 21st place.
The Blue Devils played the tournament with three freshman in the five-member team. Thomas Downing finished in a tie for 29th place after firing rounds of 75-76 and shooting 151. Nick Piersall shot 77-75 and finished in a tie for 36th place overall with a score of 152. Joe Tucker finished in a tie for 53rd place after shooting 78-79.
