Men's Golf Completes First Two Rounds at VGA/UConn Invitational
Third and final round will be played on Saturday
The Central Connecticut men's golf team completed the first two rounds of the VGA/UConn Collegiate Invitational on Friday at the Mohegan Sun Golf Club in Baltic, CT. The third and final round of the tournament will be held on Saturday.
The Blue Devils shot a round one score of 310 and were in ninth place in the 10 team field. They followed that up with a round of 307 in round two to post a two-round total of 617 (+41).
Bryant leads the 10-team field with a two round score of 568 (-8). UConn is second (572), followed by Army (581), Hartford (582) and St. Thomas Aquinas (589).
Two of the five Blue Devils improved their score in the second round of the tournament. The other three shot the identical score from the first round to pace the Blue Devils on Friday.
Freshman Drew Aitken (76-76) posts a two round total of 152 to lead all CCSU golfers. He is tied for 35th place overall.
Senior Nick Direda (77-77) shot 154, as did freshman Arthur Ouimet (77-77), and both are tied for 42nd place.
Senior Matthew Mahlke (80-77) shot 157 and is tied for 50th place. Freshman Andrew Szandrocha (81-78) shot 159 and is tied for 56th place overall.
The third and final round will take place on Saturday.
