Men's Golf Finishes 12th at Homewood Hilton Airport FGCU Invitational
Blue Devils have completed their fall season
The Central Connecticut men's golf team finished 12th out of 16 teams at the 2016 Homewood/Hilton Garden Airport & FGCU Classic on Tuesday. The Blue Devils have completed play for the fall season following this weekend's tournament.
The Blue Devils shot a day two score of 311 in Tuesday's third and final round, to finish with a score of 948 in the three round tournament.
The tournament was hosted by Florida Gulf Coast University at the Old Corkscrew Golf Club and is a par-72, measuring 6,718 yards on Day 1, and 6,750 yards on Day 2.
Freshman Drew Aitken led the way for the Blue Devils in the third round shooting a score of 74, improving 14 shots from the first round and 11 from the second. He finished with a score of 247 and tied for 76th place overall.
Junior Anthony Sebastianelli was the top finisher for the Blue Devils in the tournament, shooting a score of 235 and tying for 41st place. He fired an 86 on Tuesday after shooting a 71 and a 78 in Monday's first two rounds.
Freshman Arthur Ouimet shot 78 on Tuesday and finished at 240, good for a tie for 59th place overall. Senior Matthew Mahlke shot 81 on Tuesday and finished at 241, in a tie for 61st place overall.
Junior Brandon Raine shot a 78 on Tuesday, six strokes better than his second round score, to finish at 244, in a tie for 70th place.
