CCSU Trails Bryant After Day One of Dual Match on Saturday
18 more holes on Sunday will determine the winner
Junior Brandon Raine leads all golfers but the Central Connecticut men's golf team trails Bryant University 297-285 after the first 18 holes of a dual match this weekend. The two teams are meeting at The Connecticut National Golf Club in Putnam, CT.
Central and Bryant will play 18 more holes tomorrow to determine the winner of the match. The course is a par 71.
Raine was the only golfer under par on Saturday, shooting an impressive 70 (-1) over his first 18 holes. He leads three Bryant golfers who all shot 71. William DelBiaggio, John Roberts and Matthew Stafford each are one shot back of Raine in the standings.
Central junior Anthony Sebastianelli sits in a tie for fifth place, alongside Bryant's Ryan Tombs, with a 72 on Saturday. Bryant's Payton Kim, playing as an individual and therefor not counting towards his team score, shot a 74, as did teammate McKinley Slade. They are tied for seventh.
Central freshman Drew Aitken shot 77 (+6) and is in ninth place. Senior Nick Direda, playing as an individual, shot 78, along with freshman teammate Arthur Ouimet. Senior Matthew Mahlke shot an 82 for the Blue Devils.
The second and final round of the match will take place on Sunday morning.
