Blue Devils in 7th After Day One at NEC's
Mullen leads the way with 75 in first round
Senior Monte Mullen shot a day one score of 75 to sit in 12th place overall as the Central Connecticut men's golf team completed the first round at the 2015 Northeast Conference Men's Golf Championship on Friday. The Blue Devils sit in seventh place in the nine-team field after Friday's round, with a team score of 313.
Mullen's 75 led the Blue Devils and put him in a tie for 12th place overall. Sophomore Matt Hills shot 78 and sits in a tie for 21st place. Junior Jack Ayers shot 79 and is tied for 27th place. Classmate Connor Murphy fired an 81 on the first day and is tied for 31st, while sophomore Bryant Bolden shot 84 and is tied for 39th place.
Robert Morris shot a day one score of 292 to lead the nine team field, led by a 67 individual leader Garrett Browning. Bryant University (294) is just two shots back, followed by Fairleigh Dickinson (298), LIU Brooklyn (303), St. Francis U (304), Sacred Heart (310) and then the Blue Devils.
The tournament is taking place at the LPGA International Golf Course in Daytona Beach, FL. The second round will begin on Saturday, while the third and final round will take place on Sunday morning.
