Central Connecticut junior Monte Mullen was named the Northeast Conference golfer of the month for October, it was announced on Wednesday by the league office.  Mullen and the Blue Devils captured the NEIGA Championship at The Captains Course in Brewster, MA, over the weekend in their final tournament of the fall.

Mullen had a standout month for the Blue Devils, capping it with the 2013 NEIGA Individual championship on Monday. Mullen finished in a tie for first place with a two-round score of 143 (-1) and won on the second playoff hole to claim his third career individual title.

Mullen's score led the Blue Devils to the team championship, besting 37 other teams in the process. Mullen's stroke average of 72.2 over the three tournaments this past month led the Blue Devils. He finished in 1st, 12th and 14th place overall and paced the Blue Devils in each of the three events.
