Bio

Steve Treffiletti begins his fourth season as an assistant men's basketball coach with the Blue Devils in 2013-14.  Prior to coming to New Britain, Treffiletti spent four seasons on the staff at Fordham, assisting in all facets of coaching, including on the court teaching, scouting and recruiting. 

Treffiletti helped Fordham to a school best 10-8 record in the A-10 and 4th seed in the conference tournament as well as helping recruit All-Freshman team members Jio Fontan and Chris Gaston, who also won A-10 Rookie of the Year.

Prior to Fordham, Treffiletti spend two seasons at Florida State University. With the Seminoles, he was responsible for player development, film exchange, weight training and academic support, while earning a Masters in Sports Administration.

Prior to his stint at Florida State, Treffiletti was an assistant coach at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, New York from 2002-04 after serving as a volunteer assistant coach for the school in 2001-02.

Treffiletti received his start in coaching with the Albany City Rocks AAU program. In 2001, he coached the Under-15 Albany City Rocks team, in 2002 he coached the Under-16 squad that placed sixth in the country at a national AAU tournament. In 2003-04, Treffiletti was the head coach for the nationally-ranked Under-17 Albany City Rocks.

A 2003 graduate of Keene State College in Keene, New Hampshire, Treffiletti received a Bachelor's Degree in business management from the school before going on to earn a Master's Degree in sports management from Florida State University in 2006.

A native of Clifton Park, New York, Treffiletti played high school basketball at Shenendehowa High School and was a team captain of the 1996 squad that finished 25-2 and reached the New York State Tournament.  He now resides in Danbury, CT with his wife Elaine and daughter Sabrina.
