Central Connecticut State University named Greg Collucci as an Assistant Men's Basketball Coach, it was announced on July 23, 2014.  Collucci begins his second season in New Britain after spending one season at American University.

"I am excited and honored to join the men's basketball staff at CCSU," Collucci said on Wednesday.  "I am thankful to Coach Dickenman and Paul Schlickmann for trusting in me to be a positive addition to the program.  I look forward to the challenges ahead."

American won the Patriot League Tournament Championship in 2014 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.  They finished the season with a 20-13 oveerall record including a win over Boston University in the tournament championship.  The team held BU to 36 points (55-36) in the championship game after winning games over Colgate (59-50) and Holy Cross (57-46) in the first two rounds.

Prior to his stint at American, Collucci spent five seasons as an assistant coach at his alma mater, George Washington.  He spent 11 total seasons at George Washington, including four as a player and two additional years on staff prior to becoming an assistant coach.

At GW, Collucci was promoted to assistant coach prior to the 2007 season and helped George Washington to its second Atlantic 10 tournament title in three years. This marked the Colonials third straight appearance in the NCAA tournament.

GW made the NCAA Tournament in 2005, 2006 and 2007 while Collucci was on staff, achieving its highest national ranking in more than 50 years during the 2006 season. In addition, GW captured back-to-back Atlantic 10 conference titles during Collucci's first two seasons on staff.

Collucci is a 2004 graduate of GW with a bachelor's of business administration degree in marketing. He is a native of West Palm Beach, FL.  He averaged 5.5 points (623 career points) including 160 career three-pointers as a player at GW.

Collucci and his wife, Amy, have two children, Kendell (2) and Zachary (1).
